We designed this Botswana and Seychelles Luxury Birthday Package for a couple from southern California. Her birthday dream was a safari in the Okavango Delta and then a week at a stunning beach. So, we put this trip together for an awesome birthday adventure.
They started their Botswana and Seychelles Luxury Birthday Package at Machaba Camp in the Okavango Delta. The understated, ‘50s-style Machaba Camp is located in the game-rich 180,000ha Khwai
concession of the Okavango Delta adjacent the Moremi Game Reserve. The Machaba tree is
aptly considered the tree of life, and the camp is a lively place because of them. Game viewing and bird-watching around Machaba Camp are always exciting experiences that offer plenty to see at every turn. They loved their safari experience with diverse wildlife encounters along the Khwai River, where elephants, lions, and hippos thrive amidst stunning landscapes.
Next on their Botswana and Seychelles Luxury Birthday Package, the continued to the Gomoti Plains in Okavango Delta to Gomoti Plains Camp. Gomoti Plains Camp is nestled into evergreen riparian woodland with the central area featuring a beautifully outfitted large mess tent full of colour and style, housing the dining area and lounge, a perfect spot to relax in between morning and afternoon activities. For three nights at the camp, the couple enjoyed thrilling game drives and mokoro (dugout canoe) excursions, where they encountered diverse wildlife like elephants, lions, and hippos.
They finished their Botswana and Seychelles Luxury Birthday Package for a week in the Seychelles. They flew from Botswana to Johannesburg for a quick overnight and then continued to the Seychelles for another overnight before landing on their private island, Alphonse Island. Seven degrees South of the Equator and 400 kilometers South-West of Mahé, Alphonse Island is blessed with one of the world’s healthiest climates, and miles of unblemished shorelines, lagoons and sea flats. Alphonse Island features a single exclusive lodge comprising of Beach Bungalows and Beach Suites set amongst lush tropical gardens just meters from the shoreline with scenic ocean views. The couple enjoyed relaxing and the many activities of the island, like snorkeling, diving, fishing, and nature walks, all set against the backdrop of pristine beaches and vibrant coral reefs
After 14 days, their birthday trip came to an end. They returned home with fond memories of the adventure of a lifetime!

Suggested Itinerary
Day 1
Today is the start of your birthday adventure. You will arrive into Maun airport and then will board your bush flight to Machaba airstrip. This camp is an authentic safari experience with luxurious tented accommodations set along the Khwai River, blending comfort with a deep connection to nature. You will enjoy exceptional wildlife viewing right from camp, with elephants, hippos, and a variety of birdlife frequently passing by. Settle in your luxury tent and enjoy a beautiful dinner on the deck.
Machaba Camp
Days 2 – 3
Spend these two days on safari in the area. You will be thrilled with rich wildlife sightings, including lions, leopards, elephants, and rare wild dogs, all thriving in diverse ecosystems. The area’s mix of floodplains, woodlands, and waterways creates picturesque landscapes, ideal for game drives, walking safaris, and night explorations.
Machaba Camp
Day 4
Today you are off to your next camp in Gomoti Waterway in the Okavango Delta. You will arrive to Gomoti Plains after a short bush flight. Accommodation is ten classic safari tents. Each tent is tastefully furnished with safari-style décor and has stunning teak chairs and a wardrobe. All raised on wooden decks, the tents boast great views of the floodplains beyond, and each room has a shaded veranda.

Days 5-6
You will spend these days taking in all of the area’s activities. Game drives take you along the river system and floodplains, or you can choose to take to the water in a mokoro canoe. Glide along the tranquil waterways and enjoy the Delta and its wildlife from a different angle – a wonderful tranquil way to explore the waterways.
Gomoti Plains
Day 7
It is time to make your way to the beach. You will fly from Botswana into Johannesburg where you will spend a night.

Day 8
Today you are off to the Seychelles. You will arrive in Mahe and then spend an overnight in the area.

Day 9
After breakfast, board your light aircraft to Alphonse Island, your home for the next week. As you arrive on Alphonse Island, you’re greeted by dazzling turquoise waters, powdery white-sand beaches, and lush palm-fringed forests, creating an idyllic tropical paradise. Settle into your beautiful suite looking out to the beach.

Days 10-15
These are your days to enjoy the island. Encounter an extraordinary array of wildlife and exceptional adventures… Trek the flats and discover the micro environments. Feed giant tortoises, unearth the history of Alphonse on a guided cycling tour. Dine under the stars, dive to new depths and visit one of the 30+ dive sites, surrounding Alphonse and encounter a magnificent array of marine life. Learn to fly fish, swim or snorkel amongst shoals of brightly coloured fish in the warm, turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean – the possibilities are endless. Be sure to take in all of the delicious food in the central dining and bar area alongside the sparkling pool and shoreline, offering the very best of traditional Creole creations inspired by the sensual island atmosphere.

Day 16
Today marks the end of your birthday trip. Enjoy a transfer to the airport, where you’ll begin your journey home.
