My Story
I was born and raised in Young, Australia. I relocated to the United States in 1996 as a member of Tourism Australia, then founded Down Under Endeavours in 1998, focusing solely on enabling travelers to experience the South Pacific in authentic and luxurious style. My mission is to help North American travelers experience my beautiful country through the eyes of a local!
My Travel Style
I’m all about adventure! I’ve traveled to 5 of the 6 inhabitable continents so far. My favorite memories always occur when I push myself out of my comfort zone and discover something unexpected.
My itineraries can sometimes be unusual. For instance, after completing the Paris Marathon in 2010, I traveled straight from France to South Africa, where I experienced a safari in Phinda Private Game Reserve, rugby matches in Durban, and golf at Leopard Creek near Kruger National Park (and site of the European PGA’s Dunhill Cup). My ideal vacation involves sports, great food and wine, and of course getting to know the locals.
When I’m Not Traveling, I…
Love to wander our neighborhoods in Chicago seeking out new and funs spots, on a golf course with Doug and a few travel clients who are now good mates, or riding my bike along the Chicago Lakefront path as I’m back in training for triathlons. I also sit on the board of the MVAT Foundation (Military and Veterans Appreciation Trust) and am very active with other charities, including the Hoyt Foundation.
