Remote Safari Tour: Zambia Adventure
Go off the beaten path with this very active and remote safari tour of Zambia. Explore the magnificent parks in Zambia, Lower Zambezi, Kafue and South Luangwa National Park on walking safaris and game drives with expert guides!
Our Remote Safari Tour was designed for a mother and daughter duo from California who wanted to celebrate the daughter’s college graduation with the ultimate African wildlife experience. Because they wanted to go off the beaten path, we planned this very active remote safari tour across Zambia that allowed them to be fully immersed in nature.
They started at Kutali Camp, a small camp that sits on a scenic bend of the Zambezi River. The Lower Zambezi National Park has some of the finest big game wildlife viewing in Africa. This, coupled with the variety of safari activities, made it for a truly fantastic first stop on their Remote Safari Tour. High densities of elephants gather on the valley floor as the dry season commences, along with large herds of buffalo and impala. In attendance are all the large predators one might expect, with lion, leopard and wild dog very well represented here.
Next, we flew them to nearby Musekese Camp, in the Kafue National Park. This small, intimate camp, powered by solar energy was a perfect next stop for their Remote Safari Tour. Game numbers and the quality of sightings have improved year upon year thanks to increased protection and concerted habituation by the team at the camp. All the major predators are present, with leopard and lion very well represented. Elephant herds are always visible in the dry season months and the plains game is as numerous as it is varied from sable and hartebeest to zebra and puku (puku in their thousands!). Birding is top-class, with hundreds of species recorded in and around the Musekese area.
To continue their Remote Safari Tour, our clients visited the South Luangwa National Park and started at Bilimungwe Camp. With only 4 tents, this camp immersed them in the heart of the South Luangwa wilderness, surrounded by abundant wildlife and serene, untouched landscapes. The camp’s rustic charm, with open-air chalets and close proximity to nature, creates an intimate and authentic safari experience with daily sightings of elephants, hippos, and vibrant birdlife right from your their doorstep.
Then, they arrived at the gorgeous Kapamba Camp on their Remote Safari Tour. The camp is isolated in one of Zambia’s most vibrant parks, but offers luxurious accommodations and stunning views of the Kapamba River. They were able to witness elephants, lions, buffalo, and more crossing the river right from their cozy deck.
Lastly, then ended their Remote Safari Tour at Mfuwe Lodge, a luxurious safari retreat nestled in South Luangwa National Park, known for its beautiful riverside setting and comfortable accommodations that seamlessly blend with the natural surroundings. Famous for its annual visits from wild elephants passing through the lobby, the lodge provided them with a unique and intimate wildlife experience along with exceptional opportunities for game viewing and relaxation.
After 2 nights of there, their unforgettable Remote Safari Tour came to an end.
